Piper posts two follow up comments on the election: Why a Women Shouldn’t Run for Vice President, but Wise People May Still Vote for Her and A Prayer for the Election.
Denny Burk quotes the USA Today on how crucial the next president is for the future of Roe v Wade–one justice tips the balance of power. Denny also posts his “Closing Argument for Life.” Please read and think.
My friend Eric Schumacher succinctly presents the argument summarizing the moral atrocity of voting to uphold the slaughter of the unborn:
Imagine a political candidate who holds your views on the economy, the Iraq war, education, health care and foreign policy, promising more jobs, better income and lower taxes.
Additionally, he promises to fight to make it legal to own African slaves and execute Jews in gas chambers.
Would you vote for this candidate? Absolutely not!
Does this make you a one-issue voter? No. It makes you a moral voter. Some issues bear such moral weight that they trump any other “good” promised. Killing preborn children is one such issue.
Barack Obama is one of the most pro-choice candidates ever. He has vowed to make his first act as president to sign the Freedom of Choice Act. Voting for him is a conscious decision to keep legal the murder of innocent children. It is immoral to vote your pocketbook, religion, union or party if it means voting for any candidate who will fight to keep abortion legal.
