Dr. Vickers’ book on the topic, Jesus Blood and Righteousness, has recently appeared. The nutshell referenced above is the interview. This book is like a life giving tree.
Vickers has a unique ability to turn a phrase, which makes this interview not only easy to read but even devotional. C. S. Lewis held that the serious books are the most helpful spiritually. Here is rich food for the soul. Enjoy!

I initially rolled my eyes at this book and I was thinking that it would be another exercise in Reformed Dogmatics and heresy hunting. After reading parts of it on Crossway’s website I was suitably impressed. Vick’s exegesis is sober and sane and his willingness to admit that these all of the texts that he cites do not all say the same thing is refreshing to hear.

I almost bought this book last week. I opted instead for Lloyd-Jones’ first book in his Romans series and a handful of Puritan paperbacks. My brother highly recommended it. I guess I’ll have to put it in the queue.
