  1. James:

I just finished reading your treatise, WHAT WOMEN CAN DO IN MINISTRY: FULL PARTICIPATION WITHIN BIBLICAL BOUNDARIES, and I just wanted to thank you for the work on that paper. I have found very little written support for what I believe to be a Biblical handling of 1 Timothy 2:13-15 and it was refreshing to see your expansion of thought on that passage.

I am also a regular reader of 9 Marks and first saw your works there – an excellent site.

I read one article there co-authored by Gregg Allison, and noticed that he is now at Southwestern. I was a student of his at Western Seminary in Portland years ago and we attended the same church there as well. I can’t find any information for him at the Southwestern web site though. Odd.

I have included a link to my blog site as well – not that I’m expecting you to read my thoughts there, but out of mutual consideration I thought that I would include it.

Thanks again. I look forward to reading more from you.

    Todd Thielen

  2. Todd,

Thanks for your note. I think that Gregg Allison is now at Southern Seminary in Louisville rather than Southwestern in Fort Worth, but I could be mistaken.

Thanks again for your kind words!

  3. Dr. Hamilton,

Do you know where I can find Tyndale Bulletin 57.1? Southern’s library didn’t recieve a copy for some reason. I want to read yours and Bird’s articles in that one. Sounds good.

  4. Mr. Hamilton,
I just ran across your blog, and maybe you can help me with some questions I have. Could you maybe email me at the above address? I am really searching for some answers, and I thought you might be willing to help me out.
    Thanks so much
    In Christ
    Karissa

  5. Dr. Hamilton,

I just finished reading your article on the ‘center’ of Acts. I want to commend you. I began my reading somewhat skeptical. However, your explanation of the biblical data was very convincing. One remaining question is this. It seems that your hermeneutic of Acts in significantly tied to salvation-history. In fact, the only way the miracles of the early church fit into your schematic is if they are understood eschatologically in salvation-history (by the way I agree with your position). Is it possible to have such an influential hermeneutical paradigm and that paradigm not be the ‘center’? If the only way Acts is understood as “the glory of God in salvation through judgement” is to interpret the text in light of redemptive history–isn’t redemptive history the real underlying center? Just some thoughts, thanks for your work and ministry.

  6. Rusty,

My off the cuff response is to say that salvation history isn’t the ultimate point of God’s plan, rather, his plan terminates on something. I think the plan of redemptive history serves the glory of God in salvation through judgment as the stream which carries the story forward to its termination point.

And, I think the glory of God in salvation through judgment will go on forever as the redeemed worship God forever, and it appears that they will always see the smoke going up from the torment of the wicked, so they will always be cognizant of the mercy they have received (Rev 19, Isa 66).

    Thanks for your note!

  7. Bro Jim,

I’ve been preaching/teaching through Genesis to a group of Bhutanese/Nepalese Hindus and will be plagerizing your gnarly essay on crushing skullz very shortly. Your spiritual gifts and seeds you planted are being utilized by God in ways you never imagined. Grace and peace man!
